L and her Health

Hello all!

L has a new Doctor as of yesterday... She's a Rheumatolgy doc in Boston. L has had a lot of problems like sleep disorder that has put her on medicine and a CPAP machine at night( it's a machine that forces air down your throat and nose all night to keep you breathing), OCD and now as of last August.. something that made her very sick and the Docs at that time thought it was the "West Nile" virus... Still don't know if it was, but two of the symptoms never went away. Pain in all her joints and pain when anything touches her skin..

So, we went to the new Doc her primary doc sent us to yesterday and she tells us that L could have Lupus or Fibromyalgia? She did a lot of blood and urine tests on her, some are coming back.. one came back as "RARE" in a urine test... I can't imagine what it is! I've emailed the doc on that and three more that came back too high! Now, I'm worried. The new doc thinks that all her problems over the years like, the sleep disorder are symptoms of a bigger problem, not the problems themselves. This is just way too much to handle now!

All these years trying to fix all that is wrong with her and find out what it all is, has brought us to this? None of it was the main problem but symptoms?

Why does it always take doctors months and years to figure things like this out? Why can't we ever go to the doctor once, for a problem instead of months and years to get answers?

I just don't understand how even good doctors can make you wait so long for a diagnoses for some of the simplest things never mind 8-10 different doctors over the years to put the puzzle together!

I'm very frustrated and up-set right now! I haven't told L about any of her tests results yet. I want one doctor to put it all together and be sure before L is made to feel worried too!

ARG!

Hope everyone is well,

D~

Much as I have a lot of sympathy for L, and yourself, I also feel that our expectations of doctors are often too high. It's sometimes the apparently simplest of things that can cause them the biggest difficulties. I'm not making excuses for them as I've experienced good and bad ones so I know just what it's like.
I hope that L's new doctor proves to be a good one and that things improve quickly for her.
Take care. xx

You're so right Flighty! We're going to take it one day at a time and not get L so up-set!

I'll be at your blog quit often now that I have the address! Always did love your blog!

Do you know what MJ's blog address is?

That's all you can do, although it's easier to say than do!
Do stop by any time as you're always welcome. That's nice to know. I've added you to my Lawn Loungers favourites list.
As far as I know she stopped blogging during last year. xx
